Everyone has been researching their chosen topics. We have practiced asking thick questions to guide our research, taking notes using index cards on the information we find and planning a fun "lesson" for the visitors to the learning stations. We are putting the last bits of our research presentations together.
All Learning stations should include: 1) A "Catchy" Title 2) A Visual-Poster, Tri fold board, props, simulation, etc. 3) Research Presentation (Information learned will be shared) 4) An Interactive Activity based on the research PLEASE LET YOUR CHILD WALK THROUGH HIS/HER PRESENTATION WITH YOU. HELP THEM SELF-REFLECT AND MAKE CHANGES AS NEEDED. We had a great trip to this architectural marvel!!! Many thanks to everyone that made this field trip happen (...and without a hitch)! It was a blast as you can see!
Part of our research project is interviewing an expert in the field of the subject they have chosen. We learned some tips for successful interviewing and critiqued an interview by a Scholastic News reporter. Please make an attempt to contact an expert via phone, email or face-to-face and allow your child to ask them a few topic related, open-ended questions. This is a rewarding experience for the interviewer and the interviewee.
This week we discussed how Nature Sustains Life. We watched a quick but very impactful video from "Mother Nature". Our field trip to Mercedes-Benz Stadium is Tuesday. We are very excited to see this amazing structure and its sustainability features. We will be leaving Kemp at 9:15 and returning at 1:45. If you are chaperoning please be at Kemp by 9:00.
A couple of important reminders- *Dress comfortably! We can show our appreciation to Mercedes-Benz Stadium by wearing Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United or red/black/white/gold spirit wear. I imagine there will be lots of walking so I would suggest sneakers. *DON’T FORGET LUNCH(ES) 23 students and 15 chaperones are going to have an AWESOME time!!! We are looking forward to our field trip on the 23rd.
We are excited to learn:
